PDI Zoom animation, 1996

For Pacific Data images, for the opening party for their Palo Alto office, June 1, 1996.
Founded in 1981, Pacific Data images is one of the longest-lived computer animation houses in the volatile world of special effects and digital post-production. Having pioneered such techniques as morphing in music videos, movies and television advertisements, they are now gearing up to do a feature film.
I have watched PDI grow since the founders Carl Rosendahl, Richard Chuang and Glenn Entis first met at the Graphics Gathering at Stanford University on Valentine's day, 1981. I feel proud that they have managed to create such a successful adaptable company.
I came up with the idea for this animation perhaps ten years ago when the company was still searching for a logo.
