At the 2002 GDC I did not present any formal talks. I did however distribute a short paper about my current strategy for online games, which is to build daily puzzles that have the same appeal online as crossword puzzles in newspapers.

Daily Puzzles: My Strategy for Casual Gaming
Crossword puzzles are already a killer app in the newspaper business. Electronic media make it possible to deliver other sorts of puzzles every day. For instance, a daily jigsaw puzzle would be impractical in a newspaper, but is easy to do online. What other sorts of daily puzzles will work online? Why is this a good business strategy?
